Growing Melton
Growing Melton
Growing Melton is We Love Aintree's community food growing program, supporting residents across the City of Melton to grow food, build skills and strengthen community connections. Through community gardens, workshops, school programs and food security initiatives, we aim to create a more resilient and sustainable local food system where everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and share.
Community gardens are at the heart of Growing Melton, providing welcoming spaces where people can grow fresh produce, develop practical gardening skills, meet like-minded people and participate in workshops and community activities.
We currently support food growing at:
Aintree Community Garden – 1 Timbertop Parade, Aintree
Kurunjang Community Garden – 33 Mowbray Crescent, Kurunjang
Djerriwarrh Community Garden – 239 Station Road, Melton
Melton South Community Garden – 41 Exford Road, Melton South
You can also get involved in community food growing at:
Edmund Rice Community Services – 21–179 Greigs Road, Truganina
Stevenson House Community Garden – 10 Stevenson Crescent, Caroline Springs
Sundowner Community Garden – Sundowner Caravan Park, 2057–2083 Western Freeway, Rockbank
Taylors Hill or Melton Men’s Shed
As Growing Melton continues to expand, we are working with local councils, schools, community organisations and volunteers to establish new opportunities for people to connect through food, gardening and environmental sustainability across the municipality.
