Our Grow Food: Meltonprogram has partnered with Djerriwarrh Neighbourhood House to create the Melton Seedbank Project.
The Seedbank Project is creating a seed collection that reflects the foods of cultures within our diverse community.
The Seedbank will provide free seeds alongside practical in-person and multi-lingual digital growing tips, cultural cooking workshops, and other support for people to grow cultural foods in backyards, small spaces and containers.
Schools and community gardens around Melton will be growing seeds, saving them, and packaging them for the Seedbank, allowing community members to access rare vegetable seeds to grow at home.

Schools and community members can help grow and save seeds for the Seedbank, while anyone in the community can access free seeds to grow fresh food at home.

Our new multilingual app will make it easy to learn how to grow each plant, save seeds for future seasons, and cook with the vegetables and herbs in the Seedbank.
