Grow Wild: Community
We bring people together to connect with nature, care for local environments and take practical action for biodiversity across Melton. Through hands-on conservation, workshops, walks and community learning, Grow Wild: Community creates opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn about and contribute to the natural environment.
Programs may include:
community planting and revegetation days
planting partnerships with community groups and organisations
corporate and workplace volunteering
habitat garden and biodiversity workshops
guided environmental and nature walks
community talks, seminars and environmental education
opportunities to participate in local conservation and citizen science initiatives.
We work with residents, community groups, businesses and local organisations to create meaningful opportunities to learn, participate and take action — whether that means planting native habitat, creating a wildlife-friendly garden at home, learning more about local species, or helping care for important natural areas.
By building knowledge, practical skills and stronger connections between people and the places around them, our Grow Wild: Community programs are growing a community of environmental stewards who can help protect and enhance Melton’s biodiversity for the future.
